Admission Requirements

Academic requirements

A bachelor degree (minimum 180 ECTS) in science or engineering with a combined 15 ECTS in mathematics and/or physics and 10 ECTS in chemistry, or an equivalent qualification from a recognised University or Engineering College.

Diploma suitability is considered during the application process and subject to approval of the SINReM selection committee.

The SINReM master programme is particularly suited for (but not limited to) : Chemical Engineers, Environmental Scientists and Engineers, Mining engineers, Geologists, Mineral & Materials scientists, Bioscience Engineers, Biotechnology students & other engineers and natural scientists.

Academic admission (and Letter of Admission) is given by the SINReM Selection Committee on March 12th and based upon the strength of the academic profile and motivation. The full application procedure needs to be completed in order to be granted admission by the SINReM Selection Committee. As soon as the selection result is known all students that are allowed into the programme receive their Letter of Admission.

Scholarship Nominees are announced by April 1st the latest.

English language requirements

Official language test (English language test with minimum requirements below)

  • TOEFL IBT 86
  • TOEFL PBT 570
  • ACADEMIC IELTS 6,5 overall score with a min. of 6 for writing

Mode of instruction (Certificate of English proof proficiency issued by home university of min. 60 credits successfully)

Only for nationals of: Australia, Botswana, Canada, Eritrea, Gambia, Ghana, Guyana, India, Ireland, Kenya, Liberia, Malawi, Namibia, New Zealand, Nigeria, Philippines, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Trinidad and Tobago, Uganda, UK, USA, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.

Academic admission is required before starting the programme. Academic admission will be granted based on the admission requirements. Scholarships will be granted based on the admission requirements and an evaluation by the SINReM selection commitee. ERASMUS scholarship students are notified on April 1st. During the application process, it is within the responsibility of the candidate to provide documents to show that they meet the admission requirements. In addition to the previous criteria and due to the entrepreneurship-oriented focus of SINReM, the entrepreneurial spirit of the candidates will be taken into account during selection. Please consider this in your motivation letter.
