Prof. Dr. Gero Frisch has been awarded the prestigious 2018 Saxony Teaching Award
SINReM project coordinator Prof. Gero Frisch of TU Bergakademie Freiberg has been awarded the prestigious 2018 Saxony Teaching Award (Sächsischer Lehrpreis). The prize is awarded every two years to an outstanding professor from the various higher education institutions within the Free State of Saxony.
The selection committee found Prof. Frisch to be a dynamic and engaged lecturer within and beyond the scope of the university, with an innovative and interdisciplinary teaching programme for both current and prospective university students.
Prof. Frisch believes that good teaching is a primary responsibility of universities and the foundation for excellent research. He has succeeded in inspiring an enthusiasm for chemistry and is highly respected by his students. For the past three years Prof. Frisch has also received the prize awarded by the students of the Faculty of Chemistry and Physics for outstanding achievements in teaching.
For his students a number of fundamental and specialised courses are available. Prof. Frisch has also integrated problem-based and student-centred learning and teaching methods, with the aim to create an individual and flexible study programme. SINReM students will benefit from this interactive learning experience within the framework of the TU Freiberg module “Resources Chemistry”.
