SINReM extends its EIT Label!
In 2017, SINReM was awarded the EIT Label, a European quality seal for international master programmes that excel in innovation and entrepreneurship education, awarded by the European Institute of Innovation & Technology (EIT). We are pleased to announce that the Label was now extended, following an extensive review by an independent panel of external experts during the summer of 2021.
The evaluation panel especially appreciated SINReM’s activating and challenge-based teaching and learning methods and innovative pedagogies. Also the active involvement of industry and other non‐academic partners in training activities is considered key to achieving the ambitious list of learning outcomes of the SINReM programme.
The EIT Label furthermore requires an active promotion of the students’ non‐academic professional networks. This is undoubtedly guaranteed thanks to the EIT RawMaterials Academy activities organised during the two year SINReM programme, exposing students to innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystems.
The SINReM student cohorts show a perfect gender balance, despite the fact that STEM programmes usually attract more male than female students. This was also highly appreciated by the panel.
The EIT Label secures funding for the SINReM programme by EIT RawMaterials, including scholarships for students. This financial support will enable the SINReM programme to keep its quality high, develop further and continue to train students to tackle major global sustainability challenges.
