Kick-off of the MOTOPED Project

On the 5th of April the kickoff of the MOTOPED project was held. This project is funded by EIT RawMaterials, along with the SINReM partners Umicore, TU Bergakademie Freiberg, Ghent University and Helmholtz Institute Freiberg for Resource Technology as the main consortium partners.

The project was set up due to the understanding that there is an urgent need in industry to match the training of professionals with todays industry needs. The increasing need to match process flexibility, customer and societal needs, deliver high environment environmental, social and ethical concern, all within a rapidly changing employment is crucial to the modern workforce. This training should be pace-based, attractive, high quality and tailored to the audience and modular learners. The MOTOPED project will provide an approach for high-quality training on demand using a blended learning approach for fast, efficient, effective and focused training of new and existing workforces. Therefore a generic web-based training toolbox approach of different teaching methodologies (videos, presentations, reading materials, knowledge clips, quizzes …), will be developed and piloted with learners from key industrial partners. The MOTOPED concept will provide a possibility to complement generic toolbox learning with add-on modules that are tailored to the audience. SINReM will be able to profit from the outcomes of this project as the concept and part of the content developed will be readily usable within the framework of MSc and PhD training.
